Service 51 diversion from Monday 18 November

Due to the closure of the Ballaugh Loop Road (near to Ballaugh Old Church) for water works, from Monday 18 November up to Friday 20 December 2024 the Service 51 is unable to serve Ballaugh Station Road or the Dollagh.

During the closure period the Service 51 operates via the Ballacrye Road between Ballaugh and Ballaugh Cronk - serving the main road bus stops in Ballaugh instead of Station Road and Ballaugh School.

 

Groves Road closure - 0900 Thursday 7 November until mid-January 2025

A section of Groves Road in Douglas is to be closed for Drainage works. 

Service 1, 1a, 2, 2a, 11, 11a, 12, 12a, 21 (2305 journey on return) and N1 journeys operate as follows.

Douglas to Port Erin journeys: Divert from Pulrose Road via Alder Road and Springfield Road to New Castletown Road.

Alternative stops are at the Douglas Golf Club and on Springfield Road at the Springfield Avenue junction.

Port Erin to Douglas journeys: Divert from Spring Valley via Quarterbridge and Peel Road.

Alternative stops are at Harcroft Meadows and on Peel Road.

 

Closure of Christian Street, Peel - 0900 Monday 11 November for up to 3 weeks

During this period buses are unable to serve the Peel Town Hall bus stop.

Buses for Douglas (Services 4, 5, 5a, 5c, 6, 6a, 6f, N5) and Patrick (Services 4, 4b, 4n) depart the Albany Road garage stop at 1 minute after the time scheduled for the Town Hall stop.

Daytime Service 5 & 5c buses to Ramsey serve the House of Manannan and Promenade as normal then via Church Street to the Tesco stop on Derby Road - departing the Tesco stop 1 minute after the time scheduled for the Town Hall stop.

Evening Service 5, 5c, 6a buses to Ramsey operate via Albany Road as normal then to the Tesco stop on Derby Road - departing the Tesco stop 1 minute after the time scheduled for the Town Hall stop.

Daytime Service 6 & 6a journeys arriving in Peel serve the House of Manannan and Promenade as normal then to Ballawattleworth.

Evening Service 5, 5a, 6a, N5 buses which only serve Peel operate via Albany Road as normal.  Journeys to Ballawattleworth then depart the Albany Road (Tynwald Road junction) stop at the Town Hall time and divert via Church Street to Peveril Road.  Journeys which normally terminate at Peel Town Hall then turn via the Derby Road roundabout to return to Douglas.

 

Victoria Road One way from Monday 21 October

For Electrical installation works, Victoria Road in Douglas is to be one way between Marathon Road and the top of Broadway from 10:00am on Monday 21 October for approx. 4 weeks.

Departures outbound from Douglas 

Services 3a, 25, 25b, 25h and X3 will divert from York Road via Crosby Terrace, Dukes Road and Marathon Drive to Victoria Crescent.

School services travelling towards Victoria Road will follow the diversion.

Inbound Services are not affected by the one way system.

Departures inbound on Victoria Road

Services 3a, 22, 22h and X3 journeys are not affected.

Loch Promenade Stop F unavailable from 16 October

Due to the construction works at the Villiers Square site Stop F on Loch Promenade is not available for up to 2 years.
Alternative stops are either Stand G in Victoria Street (near to Lloyds Bank) or the Granville Street stop on Loch Promenade.


Promenade services depart Stand G 1 minute before the advertised time for Stand F.

 

Buses between Douglas and Port Erin

As a temporary measure to reduce service levels on a Sunday, with effect from Sunday 13 October the service between Douglas and Port Erin is reduced to half hourly.  This change also includes changes to Services 2, 2a, 11, 11a, 12 & 12a in the North Douglas and Onchan areas.
