We are delighted to release our 2023 Heritage Railway timetables for The Isle of Man Steam Railway, Manx Electric Railway, Snaefell Mountain Railway and Douglas Bay Horse Tramway.

Services operate as follows:

• Isle of Man Steam Railway Friday 10th March – Sunday 29th October
• Manx Electric Railway Tuesday 14th March – Sunday 29th October
• Snaefell Mountain Railway Saturday 18th March – Sunday 29th October
• The Douglas Bay Horse Tramway Thursday 6th April – Sunday 29th October

This is a year of glorious celebrations as we mark two important anniversaries. It’s the 150th anniversary of the Isle of Man Steam Railway which first opened on 1st July 1873 between Douglas and Peel and the 130th anniversary of the Manx Electric Railway that first opened between Derby Castle and Groudle on 7th September 1893!

Both occasions will be suitably marked with ‘The Year of the Railways 2023’ anniversary events planned to take place throughout the season. Details to follow in due course.

We also have some big plans for Easter and we look forward to sharing this information very soon.

Last year we successfully partnered with The Fynoderee Distillery in Ramsey to bring you ‘The MER Fynoderee Line’. This season will see the return of this event on selected Saturday’s. Bookings will open for this mid-February.

The Dining Car will also return this season and we are currently working on the 2023 ‘Down the Line’ events list.
